This camera is a good astronomical CCD-camera for a small budget. It has some professional features such as shutting down parts of the camera electronics while imaging. This reduces heat and electrical noise. Well, my first results do not compare to that on the box that contained the camera. On the other hand these were my first steps in CCD and I'm quite happy with the results I obtained on NGC 2903 and M65/66.
The only drawback seems to be the software of the camera. The first "test" of my abilities was the CD-ROM. It simply caused my computer to full-crash. It only worked with my (Dell laptop). Maybe because the laptop is nominal american? (In fact, the labels vary between China, Ireland, Corea and some other countries. Haven't seen USA, though). Once having copied the software via network, I ran the installation. Two computers, same software level of Win98SE, two different routines. Well, at least the camera works with both computers. It seems to be essential to have the latest udates of Win98SE and the .net package. More is to follow ...(c) by Frank Leiter
